Setting up Cable

Tim was all excited when he went comparing cable companies and finally decided on DirecTV. Not only did they have some really great DirecTV offers right now, but the whole setup seemed to meet his needs and was more affordable than the local cable company. He was so excited and waited about a week for the network dish to arrive and get going. When it all arrived, he was so disappointed…not due to DirecTV Deals or anything on their part, but his apartment complex’s owner wouldn’t allow him to place the dish on his unit roof.

So to avoid frustration if you ever make the change over and live in an apartment or Condo for all that matters, get approval from management before starting the setup process. Luckily for Tim, DirectTV refunded him. So again they are proven to be a decent company.

TV Options

Comparing all My TV Options is a long and difficult process. Each provider throws out numbers that are most likely falsified to their advantage. Like: “We have 1000 High Definition Stations”…”Unlimited Movies On Demand”…”The Best Sports Anywhere”… when in reality their packages require upgrades, pay-per-view service or hidden costs. Pretty crazy.

Some providers I’ve compared are Cox Communications, DirectTV, TimeWarner, etc. I started out using Cox, then found directtv had better promotions and met my needs. Then it all came down to cost and I ended up splitting up my services to be more cost effective for me. Can’t believe all the hassles we go through for affordability.

If you want some help to decide what option fits your direct tv needs, go to mytvoptions.com.

Hyundai Genesis 2009

So what do you think about the new 2009 Hyundai Genesis?

The car connection gives this car an 8.2 out of 10 overall rating for styling, performance, comfort & quality, safety, and features. The Hyundai Genesis has MSRP pricing from $32,250 to $37,250. Avocados

I so Love avocados! Did you know that Avocados are a fruit and not a vegetable? I crave them through out the month and have to run out to Sprouts to buy avocados until I meet that craving.

Avocados are full of the good fats that actually help our body’s metabolism, they’re one Superfood that is loaded with major vitamins that help your body function properly. They have such a unique buttery taste. The two most widely marketed avocado varieties are the rough-skinned, almost black Hass and the smooth, thin-skinned green Fuerte. The Hass has a smaller pit and a more buttery texture than the Fuerte. I usually buy avocados that are the Haas variety, but either choice gives you the flavors that you’re looking for in avocados.

Eating Fresh Plant-Based Foods

I love eating fresh herbs, veggies, fruits and feta cheese. There’s really no other way to cook. Fresh Garlic, Basil, Tomatoes, and Olive Oil are my favorites. I crave avocado and pistachios too and didn’t even know til recently how many phytonutrients are actually in these superfoods. They really are good for my body. Amazing how my body knew I needed these things…it’s just listening and eating them.

PhytoLife.com has become an awesome new resource for me to access fresh recipes, health information, and ongoing research studies regarding Phytofoods. One of my favorite recipes on there is the Ruby Reds, Feta, and Watermelon fresh salad they have listed. Going back to the basics of nutrition and fresh foods are becoming the “in” thing again. New Year Fitness Resolution

Okay, I’ve decided to start focusing more on my health and fitness regimen for 2009. I have a treadmill, a beautiful 3-mile walking course around a lake just across the street from our home, and lots of small businesses within walking distances. So there really is no excuse for me not to get in at least an hour of exercise a day a few days a week, right? Easier said than done for me. I have to schedule and make an effort to force my time to be directed to that amongst all of life’s busyness.

My #1 focus is what I eat. I’m finding that my appetite is decreasing, which is good. Smaller portions of food are satisfying. Russ and I are making a greater effort to share meals if we go out too. So that’s a huge help.

#2 focus is Exercise. This is equally critical for me to focus on. If I don’t plan a time to walk, its just too easy to put it off and remain unmotivated to make any effort at all for physical activity. Once I get going though, I quickly remember how much I enjoy it. I have more energy, my body feels better and functions better, and just feel more healthy all around, etc. etc.

I feel the first step for me to get back into the swing of Fitness is to acknowledge the desire. Then schedule times. Lastly, JUST DO IT!

If you want a resource for a treadmill of your own, check out this online store called, Smooth Fitness. They sell not only treadmills, but all kinds of fitness equipment at reasonable prices.

Happy New Year!

Well, I just want to wish everyone a Happy New Year. Can’t believe it’s 2009 already. Last year flew bye and seemed awfully busy after September for us. Sorry I haven’t written anything in awhile. I’m going to be trying to change that.

Since September, I’ve been Trying to find some extra work for myself and just dealing with what life throws my way emotional, financially, phsyically.
