Alternative Educational Options for High School Students

distinglogo2GROSSMONT SCHOOL DISTRICT OFFERS MANY ALTERNATIVE PROGRAMS.
Don’t let them discourage you from making the choice to utilize them for your student. Remember YOUR student Funds their School that’s why the don’t inform you of your options.

Phoenix Program is one option for an Independent Study Program with a Teacher assigned to your student. Only attends school one day a week and complete packet of paperwork and take test to finalize grades. Excellent program. Avoid TEACHER & ADMINISTRATION campus drama. Your grade is Your grade…no one to interfere with the grade you deserve. Do the work, take the test and get the grade to reflect your hard work and knowledge! My son went from Teacher given D’s & F’s to A’s & B’s. No nonsense and drama.

NOTE TO PARENTS – don’t feel like your student is stuck in the normal Public School System environment. There are many options for your student that the Administrators refuse to tell you about. You are in control of where and how your student receives education. 2008 Candidate Comparisons

Here’s some interesting information below about the candidates running for President this year. Check out the fact checker links too they are also interesting.

This election will be changing AMERICA as we’ve all ever known it.

Be careful Who & What beliefs you elect into Office, because you may wish you never opened Pandora’s Box. Really evaluate who will be doing the changing….It’s not the government. If you vote for Obama, the people will be changing to the Government’s socialistic and dictatorship type standards. Not only will Our country face financial crisis at all income levels, but we may even face the worst racial crisis ever seen before.

I actually have spare change since Bush’s tax reforms and now Obama threatens to take even that away. No use trying to have a retirement fund, participate in the stock market, or even sell your home to make a profit–if Obama is elected. Obama wants a huge percent of that money you may earn. I’m already experiencing negative equity on my home, are you? If I sell and he wants what 28% or more on my sale, that doesn’t make a lot of sense. What is that all about?

Is Obama using his Drug Dealer profit manipulation skills in presenting these new taxes? Ooooh wait a minute, Obama won’t answer that question if he was ever a Drug Dealer or not. If you weren’t one, wouldn’t you clear that issue up right away? I would.

Does your student feel like a failure in school?

If you are like me, you may have or had more than one student going through the public school system. You might have even experienced one child doing extremely better than the other academically and/or behaviorally also. Do you ever wonder why the one child is having a harder time learning and behaving than the other. I did, but didn’t realize until now what to really do about it. Or did you just figure– well, Johnny just isn’t that smart or he’s doing the best he can. Well, I know some teachers (not all teachers–there are a handful of good ones out there still) fall into that same trap. If a child isn’t succeeding in their class, instead of discovering why and how to help the child learn, the child seems to become a behavior problem because they feel like a failure. I’ve even discovered some teachers telling students that as long as they do their best they’ll pass them with a D. Of course, so they don’t have to see the student again next year. The child still feels like a failure, even with a D.

Kaiser sends me to Department of Managed Health Care

Kaiser Permanently BillsAnother day in the Continued Kaiser Billing Dispute, since early 2007.

Just so you know, I am thankful to have Kaiser and when they help you its great. Take care of Billing better and it’ll be super.

Brief recap of my situation: I made a bulk payment of $298 on December 18, 2007 over the phone on my credit card for miscellaneous lab work for March, April and May of 2007. This amount was the explainable billed amount owed determined after several hours of going over Kaisers bills and my receipts/payments with the Higher Deductible Team Representative August. Kaiser sent three of the lab items covered in that payment to collections and now won’t correct this error.

To read more details see articles:

Here’s what is happening currently:
I just received a second WAIVER denial and being referred to the Department of Managed Health Care if I desire further resolution. Never asked for a WAIVER, just correct the error…really bizarre.

Kaiser Permanente’s Billing

Have you had any problems with Kaiser’s billing practices? I’m having a heck of a time getting them to apply my payment properly and quit sending the paid bills to collections and trying to harm my credit. Worse part is my deductible plan in 2007 is drastically different from 2008 and the reps are conveniently getting confused. My blood pressure is rising due to the undue stress. Could you imagine a senior citizen having to deal with such fraudulent billing practices?

Don’t get me wrong, I’ve been a Kaiser member for over 35 years and have been confident in their services until 2007’s unorganized fiasco with billing issues.

Kaiser Billing Disputes Require Spouses Permission

BEWARE —hospital staff, doctors, billing services or membership services don’t have to discuss your spouses information on health or billing or anything, unless a Form is signed 1st. I thought that as long as you’re a spouse in California, you can attain this information. Being married you share community property, community financial responsibilities, etc. Not to the Medical Community. People have screwed with our rights so much… that the rights of big companies are protected and our married legal freedoms are being stripped from us. What’s going on? They want you to pay for your spouse, but not know that they’re double billing and overcharging. Most people just pay the bills instead of standing up for what’s right and wrong!

Home schooling is a Parental Right!

Good News for Home Schools!

Pacific Justice Institute has just received word that the court ruling which declared most forms of homeschooling unlawful in California has been vacated. This means the Rachel L. decision, which has sparked a nationwide uproar, will not go into effect as it is currently written. The Second District Court of Appeal has instead decided to re-hear the case, with a new round of briefings due in late April. It would likely take the court several additional months to schedule oral argument and issue another decision.

Today’s announcement by the court that it will re-hear the case reinforces PJI’s position that homeschooling families should continue their current programs without fear of governmental interference. PJI will be actively involved in the upcoming briefs and will continue to post updates and special bulletins on this vital issue.

Brad Dacus, president of Pacific Justice Institute, commented, “We are pleased that the Court of Appeal has decided to re-hear the Rachel L. case, and we are hopeful that the fundamental rights of these parents, our clients Sunland Christian School, and the tens of thousands of homeschooling families in California will be honored. Homeschooling parents should be treated as heroes—not hunted down or harassed by their own government.”

It amazes me that even after knowing the true statistics of home schooled children succeeding in life and making something of themselves, how someone would try to sabotage the homeschooling option.

South by Southwest Conference (SXSW)

SXSW Interactive imageWell, it’s that time of the year again for the SXSW interactive, music & film conference and festival. March 7-16, 2008, in Austin Texas. Russ and sometimes myself usually try to attend at the least the Interactive panels. Russ really enjoys participating in the sessions and having the opportunity to personally speak with Panel participants and picking their brains on ideas, thoughts, opportunities, etc. They provide a full-brain overload of information that’s for sure. Russ is like a sponge and absorbs it all. What a gift he has.

It’s crucial to register early on to avoid the last minute rush, especially when coming in from out-of-state. Hotels book up fast. The best hotel rates are usually the ones offered from the Coordinators of the Conference, so plan early to come its worth the effort.

I’m a Billionaire – according to Scam Emails

Don’t you hate it when you get scam email! Especially ones that state they have money in Large amounts waiting for you, but you have to send them personal information and the kicker you have to keep it confidential. Hmmm…why????

I have to admit, some of them are extremely clever. They not only look possibly legitimate, but they come up with pretty unique and interesting stories of Bologna to get your interest or they hope to get you to feel sorry for their situation so you’ll want to help them out. Be Aware–it’s an Identity Theft SCAM. I sure hope you don’t fall for these things. If ever in question…just delete the email. Okay, you’ll say this is common sense. Believe it or not some of the letters are pretty convincing and deceptive, so don’t get taken advantage.
I’ve been keeping a log lately of the emails I’ve been receiving and I’m worth over a Billion scam dollars– if I add them up.

***View one of the scam emails***Click Here

Some emails come from West Africa, South Africa, Canada, Switzerland, Mexico, China and I’ve even had a few from New Orleans and Florida. The stories are basically similar. Either a Bank Representative from another country contacting Me for a deceased US citizen or Family Member of a deceased person in another country that wants to make me their beneficiary so the large sum of money will not go to the Government, but it all must remain confidential so authorities aren’t alarmed. When you read, “keep it confidential” or something similar, “so authorities don’t get involved”…Big Red Flags go up in my mind. DELETE button gets pushed really quick at that point.

Have you ever received such an email? Share your story.

Presidential Elections

United States Flag

Wow, not much of a choice available to us as far as I can see.
Here’s my view at this point of the candidates:

My personal Choice is still undetermined. It comes down to
illegal immigration and religious beliefs for me.

Here’s my views of the main Political Candidates:

Romney – I appreciate the way he holds himself as he speaks. He’s confident yet humble, common sense resolutions, quick on his feet, and just a decent demeanor when you see him. I agree with most of his political platform and views, moral values, ONLY THING hindering my vote is his Mormon Belief.

McCain – He’s pretty rough around the edges with the way he projects himself, but passionate for his beliefs, morals, political views. He lives his Christian faith more than focusing on it or being in the lime-light with it. I agree with most of his political views except his view on training immigrants and his thoughts on illegal immigrants.

I feel immigration processes need to be followed through with, there needs to be changes. I am aware of people having illegal Mexican immigrants in their families here in the USA living under constant fear of being deported, yet have found loop holes in our social security system, tax system, welfare and medical systems to allow them to get privileges in the USA free or even without that they refuse to become legal. When as a citizen, tax payer, and legal resident needing medical assistance or social security can’t receive the help they’re privileged to receive.
Ron Paul – I agree with some of his political views, but most views are Too Liberal

Obama – I don’t agree with the democrat platform at all. My view of Obama is he’s a Black Radical Christian belonging to a church that boldly proclaims the importance of African Radicalism or a form of Racism Theology (read an article expanding on that thought), Anti-Israel, Anti-America. Obama Says he doesn’t agree with his church, but continues to be a member….hmm. So which is it? Leaves a huge suspicion as to how he’d run the “white house” or would political correctness according to his view have to change that title.

Clinton – I don’t respect this woman’s demeanor. I’ve heard her taking credit for other people’s work as if she did it, she can’t make up her mind on issues…basically saying whatever is popular in her opinion instead having her own true voice, above everything her voice and appearance makes me cringe when I hear it or see her. I don’t agree with her democratic platform. I feel she says anything to get what she wants. I don’t feel she’s looking out for the best interest of the USA, but for her personal best interest or interests that assist her appearance to others. Having an adulterous husband doesn’t make her life any easier I’m sure, and he’d be our 2nd Lady….eeekkk the thought of it.

Well, these are my thoughts. What are yours?

I invite you to share your personal views or help persuade me on how to vote!
Leave your comments. Thanks!
